Job Summary:
The Estimator I is an entry level position which supports the sales organization by requoting existing jobs and providing accurate costing for our industrial and aerospace manufacturing processes. The Estimator I will work closely with vendors, sales reps, CSRs, and customers, to gather the information required to calculate production costs and issue formal quotes in a time sensitive manner. This is a great opportunity to join a growing company and work collaboratively with multiple departments to solve problems for the customers we serve. You will know you're a great fit for this position if you are a self-starter, detail oriented, and can work quickly and accurately against deadlines.
Starting pay for this position is $25 per hour.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Processing RFQs and revalidating pricing for industrial and aerospace items and customers
• Requoting existing jobs and updating as needed
• Understanding various production machinery capabilities to provide accurate costs
• Researching and sourcing items relevant to quote request
• Verifying cost accuracy
• Reviewing production runs and cost increases and requoting as needed
• Working closely with sales and operations teams to provide accurate quotes
• Working closely with Pricing Coordinator to confirm sell prices
• Communicating with the Production Team regarding inventory availability
• Creating formal quotes within ERP
• Logging RFQs and maintaining searchable records
• Utilizing ERP to mine historic data and verify item information
• Coordinating updates to pricing and purchasing information on the item record
• Submitting formal quotes to requestors
• Maintaining and exceeding company and department goals and metrics
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications, Knowledge, & Skills:
• College degree preferred, or equivalent and relevant work experience
• Intermediate mathematics and problem-solving skills
• 1-2 years in related field
• Estimating/Quoting experience a plus
• 1-2 years navigating an ERP system
• Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong time management skills and ability to pivot based on new information
• CRM experience a plus
• Strong communication skills
• Attention to detail
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
