Job Description 

The Senior Certification Project Engineer is responsible for leading certification planning, execution, and compliance activities for aerospace programs. This role drives project performance, supports regulatory certification efforts, facilitates coordination with certification authorities, and ensures timely completion of program milestones. The position works closely with engineering, safety, certification, and program management teams to improve efficiency, resolve issues, and support successful product certification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain project management systems to define, monitor, and track performance against weekly commitments.

  • Support certification activities and quickly gain proficiency in Boeing certification processes, procedures, and best practices.

  • Facilitate development and coordination of certification applicant positions with regulatory authorities such as FAA and EASA.

  • Maintain effective communication across stakeholders to resolve issues and drive corrective actions.

  • Identify opportunities to improve program efficiency, productivity, and certification throughput.

  • Analyze and utilize appropriate data sources to support planning, scheduling, and decision-making.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure certification requirements are met throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Monitor project schedules, risks, issues, and performance metrics to ensure successful program execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.

  • 10+ years of related engineering, certification, systems, or project management experience.

  • Experience managing complex technical projects and certification activities.

  • Knowledge of certification processes and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Strong planning, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience utilizing project management and tracking tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with requirements validation and verification.

  • Experience performing or supporting Systems Safety Analysis, including FMEA, FHA, and Fault Tree Analysis.

  • Experience using PMO and project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, GitLab, or similar platforms.

  • Experience supporting FAA and/or EASA certification programs.

  • Strong analytical, risk management, and process improvement skills.

Education / Experience

Bachelor’s degree and typically 10+ years of related work experience, a Master’s degree and typically 8+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
