We are seeking an experienced Field Construction Manager (FCM) to oversee field construction activities for electrical infrastructure projects. This role serves as the primary onsite representative, coordinating construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, managing schedules, and supporting successful project execution from mobilization through commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Management & Project Execution

  • Coordinate and supervise all onsite construction activities, including electrical, civil, and electromechanical work.
  • Monitor project progress and support schedule adherence through proactive field management.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and maintain awareness of all field activities.
  • Lead weekly project progress meetings and review contractor look-ahead schedules.
  • Review contractor schedules, invoices, and progress reports.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, storage, inspections, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Maintain project documentation, correspondence logs, change order tracking, and as-built records.
  • Support project closeout activities and preparation of final project documentation.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to project leadership in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, suppliers, and local municipalities throughout project execution.
  • Assist with construction problem resolution, constructability reviews, and field modifications.

Safety Leadership

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on all project sites.
  • Participate in daily safety briefings and contractor safety meetings.
  • Review contractor Health and Safety Plans (HASP) and monitor compliance.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and document findings.
  • Ensure all incidents, near misses, and injuries are reported, investigated, and properly documented.
  • Support corrective and preventive action implementation.
  • Verify all workers and visitors complete required site safety orientations.

Environmental Compliance

  • Monitor environmental compliance and support implementation of project environmental management plans.
  • Conduct environmental inspections and audits.
  • Ensure environmental incidents are reported and investigated appropriately.
  • Coordinate environmental documentation and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Support corrective and preventive environmental actions as required.

Quality Assurance & Quality Control

  • Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and verify completion of required documentation.
  • Ensure contractors maintain current drawings, records, and project documentation.
  • Track RFIs, field changes, design modifications, and construction revisions.
  • Conduct quality inspections, audits, and constructability reviews.
  • Verify contractor testing, commissioning, and equipment installation activities.
  • Review material submittals and coordinate approvals.
  • Support document control and project record management.
  • Conduct pre-energization and post-energization inspections.
  • Assist with lessons learned documentation and project closeout activities.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution preferred; or
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in:
    • Construction Management

    • Electrical Equipment Installation, Maintenance, and Testing
    • Relay Protection & Control Systems
    • Startup and Commissioning Activities
