Job description

In addition, the appropriate candidate must be able to self-manage project tasks and deliverables, be familiar with risk mitigation and able to travel to support projects.
The PE role will manage and coordinate customer projects, ensuring progress action of all tasks as well as completing technical requirements to ensure project schedule commitments are met.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
This role will be responsible for several activities. These activities include but are not limited to:
  • Manage projects by following PMI or TSS AHA APM Process and AS9100 requirements
  • Development, coordinate and/or manage customer requests (RFI, RFQ, Q&A) including creation of quotations or proposals
  • Risk mitigation using various project management tools and internally developed tools
  • Understanding of customer requirements, applications, products, manufacturing process complete feasibility review
  • Develop and manage project schedules using Microsoft Office Project
  • Interpret or develop technical requirements or solutions as needed
  • Design and validate airframe seal solutions
  • Coordinate technical and commercial reviews as needed to ensure project success
  • Ensure commitments to all project deliverables are completed and on time
  • Ensure quality and delivery requirements are captured, communicated and completed
  • Develop, coordinate and/or manage awarded projects (scheduling, risk planning, task management, testing, qualification, Q&A)
  • Support factories as needed to fulfill project deliverables
  • Facilitate regular meetings (including kick-off meeting) with project stake holders to maintain communication, project status
  • Regularly update project tracking and project status documents
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at any one time
  • Work with cross functional groups to deliver to project commitments

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a corporate engineering setting required
  • Bachelors degree required, engineering or other relevant technical degree strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge and proven experience using AutoCAD, Solidworks or other 3D software strongly preferred.
  • Project management experience, PMP, CAPM, PgMP or equivalent certification preferred
  • Design experience, preferably with elastomer or composite parts preferred
  • Aerospace industry experience preferred.

Competencies:
  • CATIA proficiency or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Technical and commercial communication skills
  • Understanding of elastomer and/or composite material behavior and manufacturing processes (airframe specific knowledge preferred)

Travel:
  • Up to 25% travel
