POSITION SUMMARY:


Primus Aerospace is a leading manufacturer of machined components and assemblies for the Aerospace and Defense industries. We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented individual to join our team and gain hands-on experience in aerospace component manufacturing. This role provides valuable exposure to tight-tolerance machining, quality systems, and lean manufacturing in an AS9100 certified environment.


We're looking for a self-starter with grit-someone who's not afraid to roll up their sleeves, work alongside experienced professionals, and grow through hands-on learning. This Co-op position offers a valuable opportunity to be part of a high-performing team driving excellence in aerospace manufacturing.


This is a fulltime hourly role, 8am-5pm, Monday - Friday

This co-op is open to students for Fall 2026


PREFERRED MAJORS:

  • Industrial Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Manufacturing Engineering


POTENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support manufacturing engineers and machinists in optimizing setups
  • Develop and document manufacturing processes and suggest improvements for efficiency and/or safety
  • Design, with support, assembly fixtures that can be made in house or 3D printed
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action efforts
  • Help implement lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, visual management, waste elimination, scrap reduction, etc.)
  • Create and update work instructions to meet AS9100 and customer-specific requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, quality, and operations


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Strong initiative and willingness to work on the production floor.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and basic computer applications.
  • Effective problem-solving and time management skills.
