Parker Meggitt, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy markets, particularly in nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Lockheed Martin, among others.

Quality Engineering Technician 

Position Summary:

The Quality Engineering Technician provides expertise in setting-up and conducting product inspections, product evaluation, creating/updating quality process documentation, and operations support. Ensures high quality processes for Meggitt products/components.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret drawings, procedures and process documents to support Operations with their procedures 
  • Support Quality department in execution of development and process evaluation activities 
  • Creates product control plans, inspection procedures and measurement reports with guidance 
  • Assists with process validation programs to ensure processes meet requirements 
  • Acts as a resource for operations to explain drawing and process requirements 
  • Performs analysis and troubleshooting to determine root causes of failure of product and equipment
  • Select and procure inspection tooling and equipment using purchase requisitions and approval for expenditure process 
  • Other responsibilities as assigned 
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance 
  • Assists with process qualification 
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Able to apply expertise in systematic discipline and analytical approach to problem solving 
  • Ability to apply processes and procedures to accomplish tasks 
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with raw material processing, and assembly 
  • Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint experience 
  • Effective interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion 
  • Effective oral and written communication

Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree and equivalent industry experience

Years Experience: 1-4+ years of relevant experience

  • Pay Range:  23.75/hr to 39.55/hr
