Position Overview

Are you an architect ready to step away from the frustrations of third-party consulting and into the seat of the owner-developer? We are seeking a high-caliber Architect / Project Architect to join our fully integrated, in-house delivery team in St. Louis. In this role, you will do more than just draft—you will influence the full lifecycle of a national portfolio. By working at the intersection of design, ownership, and construction, you ensure that every line drawn on a screen translates into a high-value, high-quality physical asset without the traditional "red tape" of external client approvals.

Joining our team means becoming part of a powerhouse organization that has defined excellence in the hospitality and development sectors for over 60 years. Our "all under one roof" model—uniting architecture, engineering, interiors, and construction management—allows for a level of coordination and execution speed that is rare in the AEC industry. This is an elite platform for a technical leader who wants to see their designs realized across a massive national pipeline, offering unparalleled professional stability and a direct hand in the growth of a premier hospitality brand.

Core Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive Project Stewardship: Lead and execute architectural services across the full project lifecycle, including site planning, building design, technical detailing, and construction documentation for new builds and major renovations.

  • Integrated BIM Execution: Develop and manage high-fidelity Revit models and AutoCAD documentation, ensuring all architectural standards are met with precision and technical rigor.

  • Multidisciplinary Synergy: Drive seamless coordination between internal engineering, interior design, and construction management teams to ensure design intent is perfectly synchronized with field execution.

  • Owner-Side Representation: Act as a technical authority during the Construction Administration (CA) phase, performing site visits, managing RFIs, and reviewing shop drawings to maintain the highest quality control standards.

  • System Innovation: Evaluate and integrate emerging building systems, energy-efficient products, and cost-saving initiatives to optimize the long-term value of the firm's national portfolio.

  • Regulatory Leadership: Navigate complex jurisdictional processes and plan review workflows, ensuring all designs comply with rigorous building codes and industry standards.

  • Process Optimization: Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal departmental workflows to increase project efficiency and documentation quality.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited NAAB program.

  • Experience: 4+ years of professional experience in an architectural firm or development environment.

  • Software Proficiency: Expert-level command of Revit and AutoCAD; strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Technical Acumen: Proven track record in producing complex construction documents, technical detailing, and supporting field observation.

  • Knowledge Base: Thorough understanding of building codes, construction methods, and architectural documentation conventions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensure: Active Registered Architect (RA) license or a strong, documented track toward licensure.

  • Visualization Tools: Proficiency in SketchUp, Photoshop, or advanced 3D visualization software.

  • Sector Expertise: Previous experience in Hospitality, Multifamily, or Senior Living sectors.

  • Technical Specialties: Working knowledge of energy analysis, rebates, and incentives.
