Job description

Investment Banking Associate | Generalist

Toronto, Ontario

About the Role

Jefferies is continuing to build out its newly established Toronto Investment Banking team and is seeking a motivated Investment Banking Associate to support and lead the execution of transactions across multiple industries and product areas. This is an opportunity to join a growing platform, work closely with senior bankers, and take on meaningful responsibility in both deal execution and client engagement.

Primary Responsibilities

As an Associate on the Toronto team, you will play a key leadership role on deal teams and manage daytoday execution workstreams. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading key aspects of M&A, advisory, and capital markets transactions, including process management, financial analysis, and client deliverables.
  • Overseeing analysts in building financial models, valuation analyses, and supporting materials; providing guidance and quality control on outputs.
  • Preparing and presenting client materials, such as pitchbooks, strategic reviews, and transaction updates.
  • Managing the drafting and review of offering memoranda, CIMs, management presentations, lender presentations, and prospectuses.
  • Coordinating due diligence processes, including Q&A, data room management, expert sessions, and diligence calls.
  • Acting as a primary point of contact for clients on daytoday matters, helping cultivate and maintain senior-level relationships.
  • Driving internal processes, including deal memoranda, committee materials, and crossfunctional coordination across Jefferies' global platform.

You will work closely with Managing Directors and Vice Presidents while serving as a leader and mentor to Analysts, contributing significantly to both execution and business development efforts.

Required Background

  • 2-4+ years of investment banking experience, including prior Analyst experience; direct Associatelevel experience is preferred.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with senior management teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple live deals and projects simultaneously.
  • Highly resourceful, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and within deal teams.
