About the role

Lookout Eugene-Springfield seeks a self-starting, experienced salesperson to drive new sales in our successful Marketing Partner program and support our growing newsroom.

As an online, mobile-first news source, we offer unique and effective digital marketing solutions, all within an attractive, intuitive set of products.

Our business team builds creative, lasting partnerships that help advertisers tap into our unique products and online placements, including but not limited to branded content, display advertising, social media campaigns, and event sponsorship. Together, we work with the areaโ€™s top brands such as the University of Oregon, Selco Credit Union, Peacehealth, The Shedd Institute, Emerald Broadband, Lane Transit District, Market of Choice, Hirons Pharmacy, Willamalane Parks and Recreation, and the Springfield Utility Board. Our content-rich program, which brings brandsโ€™ stories, causes and customers to life through robust Promoted Content, has been roundly applauded by the business and civic communities. We seek a sales professional adept at building and nurturing relationships. The ideal candidate knows how to gain a good understanding of customer needs and is comfortable matching those needs to Lookoutโ€™s array of digital marketing options in order to build tailored advertising campaigns that deliver results.

Youโ€™ll also be joining a company now poised to expand the Lookout model to other communities and markets. Youโ€™ll be working with Lookoutโ€™s Community & Commerce team, reporting to the Director of Revenue and Partnerships, Jim Danzer, and joining our growing team, located in our office in the heart of Downtown Eugene.

Requirements

  • Prospect, establish relationships, and close new business, developing a book of new customers, actively managing the book of new business with analytics and campaign results, and building long-term, upgradable relationships.
  • Assemble and effectively package Lookoutโ€™s multiple solutions, including promoted content, display, newsletter email and event sponsorship solutions to maximize advertiser effectiveness.
  • Apply Lookoutโ€™s proven successful brand storytelling for large and small local businesses, educational institutions, and non-profits.
  • Share Lookoutโ€™s compelling, community-first story with local and regional business institutions, guiding them through all elements of the Marketing Partners program, and opportunities within it, and ensuring the best fit with Lookoutโ€™s audience. Participates frequently in key business community events and networking.
  • Tracks and reports out sales pipeline to speed obstacles/objections in selling, using Lookout systems.
  • A key team on Lookoutโ€™s Community & Commerce team, proactively looking for opportunities in cross-selling, cross-promotion to both build revenue and Lookout overall.
