Job description

At Expedia Group, we help travelers explore the world, one journey at a time. As a global travel company powered by passionate people, trusted partnerships, and leading technology, we connect travelers, partners, and advertisers through our consumer brands, B2B network, and travel advertising business.

Here, you'll do meaningful work that helps millions of people discover, book, and experience travel with more ease, confidence, and joy. Our five Behaviors-Traveler First, Think Big, Operate with Excellence, Ownership Mindset, and Succeed Together-help foster a supportive environment where people can grow their careers and have the flexibility, benefits, and support to do their best work. Join us and build for travelers everywhere.

Principal Product Manager, Travel Media Network Introduction to the Team:

Expedia Group Advertising (EGA) helps advertisers and travel partners reach travelers with relevant, measurable media experiences across the travel journey. The EGA Product Management team sets the product vision and strategy and works across Product, Technology, Data, Sales, Operations, and Marketing to build scalable advertising products that create value for advertisers, partners, and travelers.

We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the vision and roadmap for EGA’s Travel Media Network (TMN), a scalable retail media network that enables advertisers to activate Expedia Group’s first-party travel-intent signals across owned, partner, and third‑party environments. You will shape TMN’s product capabilities, ecosystem partnerships, measurement approach, and commercial growth strategy.

This role offers the opportunity to build a differentiated travel media business at the intersection of product, advertising, data, and technology. You will work with senior leaders and cross‑functional partners to help advertisers reach high‑intent travelers, demonstrate measurable business impact, and deliver more relevant traveler experiences.

In this role, you will:
  • Define and own TMN’s product vision, roadmap, commercial strategy, and partnership model. Prioritize investments in capabilities, integrations, and media supply that scale the network, strengthen its value proposition, and drive measurable commercial growth.

  • Establish and review TMN success metrics using analytics, experimentation, and partner feedback to improve adoption, campaign performance, advertiser outcomes, and traveler relevance.

  • Lead cross-Expedia Group execution and alignment by communicating strategy, trade-offs, and decisions to senior leaders; facilitating decision‑making across Product, Technology, Marketing, Data Science, Analytics, Sales, Operations, Legal, and Product Marketing; and ensuring privacy, security, data integrity, go‑to‑market, and launch‑readiness requirements are embedded in TMN initiatives.

  • Monitor the retail media and ad‑tech ecosystem and make clear build, buy, or partner recommendations that inform roadmap priorities and investment decisions.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of product management experience with increasing scope and accountability for complex digital advertising, media, ad‑tech, data, or closely related products, including ownership of strategy and execution.

  • Experience building and scaling digital advertising, media, ad‑tech, or data products—including retail media or programmatic products—from strategy through launch and adoption, with responsibility for roadmaps, product requirements, and measurable business outcomes.

  • Strong understanding of audience activation, first‑party data, identity resolution, privacy‑safe data collaboration, media supply, and applicable data privacy requirements.

  • Experience integrating with demand‑side platforms, supply‑side platforms, agency workflows, and major media or social platforms, including Meta, Google, and/or Pinterest.

  • Experience leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives across Product, Technology or Engineering, Data, Analytics, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Legal in a highly matrixed organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; demonstrated ability to influence decisions and create alignment without formal authority.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated expertise in advertising measurement, attribution, reporting, and performance optimization, including designing closed‑loop frameworks that connect media exposure to downstream engagement, conversion, and bookings through analytics, experimentation, statistical modeling, or machine learning.

  • Experience developing strategic partnerships and executing build, buy or partner strategies across the ad‑tech ecosystem.

  • Demonstrated leadership in managing governance, operating reviews, KPIs, and investment decisions across a complex, multi‑team product portfolio.

  • Experience applying AI/ML—including generative AI—to advertising or retail media products, with knowledge of responsible practices such as model evaluation, monitoring, transparency, privacy, and human oversight.
