Summary

The Graphic Design Intern supports HIG's Creative Services Coordinator with design and production work across primarily employee benefits and as needed, agency communications. This is a great fit for a graphic design student who wants practical experience in a professional environment, can handle quick turnarounds, works well independently, and takes feedback well.


60% Design & Production Support

  • Sales & Marketing Materials - designs presentations, flyers, ads, event materials, and sales support pieces.
  • Employee Benefit Communications - produces benefit guides, open enrollment presentations, and informational flyers.
  • Video Editing - assists with basic video content for benefit education, including editing and formatting. ย 
  • File Conversion - converts and formats files (PDF to Canva, PowerPoint to Canva) and manipulates layouts to align with brand standards.
  • Brand ย Consistency - ensures visual consistency across materials and platforms so all content reflects unified brand identity.
  • Quick-Turn Requests - completes fast-paced design requests from internal teams and departments.

20% Platform & File Management

  • Cross-Platform Work - works confidently across PDF, PowerPoint, Canva, and other file formats.
  • Template & Layout Updates - updates existing materials and templates to meet brand standards.
  • Version Control - maintains organized files and ensures accurate formatting across versions.
  • Team Support - collaborates with the Creative Services Coordinator, Sales Enablement, and other departments.

10% Collaboration

  • Feedback Integration - incorporates direction and feedback to refine materials.
  • Cross-Department Requests - supports design needs across the agency, as assigned.

Requirements

Computer Skills

  • Knowledge of Canva, PDF editing tools, PowerPoint, and general internet software. Comfort working across multiple file formats and platforms.

Education and/or Experience
