Role Description The Advertising Sales Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in San Luis Obispo, CA. This position is responsible for identifying and developing new advertising clients, managing existing accounts, and presenting tailored advertising solutions across print and digital platforms. Day-to-day tasks include prospecting local businesses, conducting sales calls and in-person meetings, preparing proposals, and negotiating advertising packages. The role also involves coordinating with internal teams to ensure accurate ad placement, monitoring campaign performance, and providing ongoing client support. The Advertising Sales Representative is expected to meet and exceed sales goals while maintaining a professional, service-oriented approach.
Qualifications
  • Strong customer service skills with a commitment to building and maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and active listening abilities.
  • Sales skills, including prospecting, presenting, negotiating, and closing deals in a business-to-business environment.
  • Basic marketing knowledge and the ability to understand and explain advertising and promotional strategies to clients.
  • Ability to learn and apply training related to products, sales techniques, and internal systems.
  • Previous experience in advertising, media, or related sales fields is beneficial.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and performance targets.
  • Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, presentation tools) and CRM systems is an advantage.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, marketing, communications, or related fields is a plus.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and reliable transportation for local client visits.
