The Sr. Retail Operations Manager at Tucson International Airport provides operational support and oversight for retail operations, serving as a critical link between Shift Managers and Multi-Unit Management. This role ensures consistent execution of operational standards, drives staff development, and maintains accountability for performance metrics while facilitating communication between front-line management and senior leadership. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure proper execution of opening and closing procedures by holding Shift Managers accountable for operational checklists and standards. 

  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and support to Shift Managers and retail associates; ensure proper scheduling and adherence to engagement behaviors. 

  • Monitor and analyze operational and financial data to achieve unit goals; implement corrective actions and share performance insights with Multi-Unit Manager. 

  • Oversee daily inventory processes, vendor coordination, equipment maintenance, and compliance with receiving and processing procedures. 

  • Maintain brand standards and lease compliance; ensure visual merchandising and store presentation meet requirements. 

  • Resolve complex customer and associate issues using sound judgment; implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and revenue growth. 

  • Conduct on-the-job training for associates and Shift Managers; communicate company initiatives and serve as liaison between front-line staff and Multi-Unit Manager. 

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and health standards; train staff on safety protocols and maintain regulatory compliance. 

  • Maintain proficiency in retail management systems (e.g., MIV, Crunch Time, Kronos); embrace new technology and train staff on system usage. 

  • Implement marketing programs and promotional activities; develop creative strategies to drive revenue and operational excellence. 

Qualifications:  

Education & Experience 

  • Minimum 6 years of combined education and professional experience in retail operations. 

  • At least 4 years in a leadership role supervising retail operations teams. 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Marketing, or related field may substitute for 2 years of experience. 

  • Strong knowledge of retail regulations, employment laws, and safety standards. 

Technical Skills 

  • Proficiency in retail technology platforms including POS systems, inventory management software, scheduling systems, and reporting tools. 

  • Ability to analyze KPIs such as sales per square foot, inventory turnover, shrink rates, and customer conversion metrics. 

  • Expertise in inventory management, planogram execution, and visual merchandising.
