Job description

Creative Directors are the architects of the creative vision at SixSpeed. They transform business challenges, consumer insight, and cultural opportunity into original ideas that make brands impossible to imitate.
They lead with clarity, conviction, and momentum, keeping teams engaged, aligned, and producing sharp work. They know concept is king but execution is everything, directing campaigns, experiences, and brand assets from the first spark through the final detail.
Creative Directors oversee multiple projects, build trusted client relationships, and push, protect, and sell great work. As leaders and managers, they embody SixSpeed's culture while advancing their teams' skills, careers, and craft.
THE TASK AT HAND
  • Lead the creative vision for integrated campaigns and ideas for a variety of outdoor, retail, and CPG brands in a team-centric environment
  • Develop creative strategies for marketing, advertising, and branding campaigns
  • Direct and shape work that is strategically sound and conceptually bold to connect people and brands in ways that are impossible to imitate
  • Foster and maintain senior-level relationships with clients acting as a strategic partner by demonstrating a deep understanding of their market, business sector and their specific challenges and opportunities
  • Understand and communicate clients goals, objectives and business landscape to the creative team (in a way that inspires and evokes)
  • Inspire and motivate teams to create their best work; promote the environment for creativity to flourish
  • Implement and push the SixSpeed creative process to evolve the agency and spur creative teams to do their best work
  • Provide clear, timely, and helpful feedback to improve creative output and processes keeping work on budget and schedule
  • Partner with Account group to provide guidance, insights, and perspectives in support of client initiatives
  • Ensure that employees are up-to-date and the agency maintains relevancy, on branding, marketing, and advertising trends and technological advances
  • Assign, oversee and monitor copywriter, design, and other creative jobs
  • Coordinate brainstorming sessions with teams to generate ideas
  • Assist in establishing schedules for short-term and long-term projects, planning jobs and resources accordingly to ensure goals and deadlines are met
  • Ensure the execution of all creative work stays within budget
  • Assist in the hiring and managing of freelance and full-time Copywriters, Art Directors, Designers, and other members or contractors
  • Assess, review and curate creative work for client presentation
  • Present creative work to clients and gather the necessary feedback in order to modify the proposal to obtain their approval
  • Directly manage and mentor team members encouraging their growth and development
  • Advocate for SixSpeed through developing thought leadership and industry relationships

WHO YOU ARE
  • You've got 7-15 years of experience in the advertising or marketing industry, in either copywriting or design/art direction disciplines
  • Design/Art Background Candidates: You're proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and have cursory knowledge of programs like After Effects
  • Design/Art Background Candidates: You have a natural, strong sense of typography, color theory, composition
  • Copywriting Background Candidates: You have a strong command of language, storytelling, messaging, and voice, with the ability to develop ideas that translate seamlessly across channels and campaigns
  • Experienced in large-scale campaign work and video production for global brands
  • Naturally inclined to build and maintain relationships with account team, creative team, and key clients
  • Positive, genuine, good-natured and collaborative in service of producing the best work possible
  • Accountable owner of projects from start to finish with task management skills to help the larger team
  • Embrace constraints and are fueled by the challenge
  • Open-minded, positive, action oriented and above all, a strong team player
  • Strong artistic sense that is able to generate ideas and concepts visually and/or linguistically
  • Ability and willingness to try new ideas, experiment with new tools, stay on top of current trends, industry knowledge, and develop new skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator that's engaging, persuasive, and inspiring to clients, team members and peers

This role offers a salary range of $120,000 to $150,000 per year. The final offer will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the requirements of the position.
