Bushnell University Overview
Bushnell University is a Christian, private, liberal-arts, comprehensive university closely affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ โ€“ approximately fifteen percent of students are from these two church bodies. Bushnell University also has an ecumenical interest and offers its resources to students and congregations of many church traditions. These students are affiliated with denominational and non-denominational groups, such as Presbyterian, Baptist, Methodist, Foursquare, Lutheran, Nazarene, Episcopal, Assembly of God, Catholic, and Community Churches. The University was founded in 1895 and is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Located in the city of Eugene, Oregon - population 175,000 (one hour from the Coast, one hour from the Cascade Mountains, ninety minutes south of Portland). Bushnell University enrolls an undergraduate and graduate student body of 800 students.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Coordinator/Assistant Director/Associate Director of Marketing serves as a strategic partner in developing and producing multimedia content that advances Bushnell Universityโ€™s enrollment goals, student retention efforts, institutional reputation, and university priorities. This position combines strategic storytelling, multimedia production, and cross-campus collaboration to tell the Bushnell story through compelling visual content. The ideal candidate will not only execute high-quality video and multimedia projects but will also proactively identify storytelling opportunities, develop content strategies, and help shape how the university communicates with prospective students, current students, alumni, donors, and the broader community. As a member of the Division of Enrollment, this position supports the Marketing Department, Department of Admission, and the University in efforts to grow enrollment, strengthen student engagement and retention, and communicate the value of a Bushnell education. The final title and scope of responsibilities will be determined based on the candidateโ€™s experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability to contribute strategically to the universityโ€™s marketing efforts.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute multimedia storytelling strategies that support enrollment, student retention, institutional reputation, advancement, and university priorities.
  • Lead the planning and development of multimedia projects by working with stakeholders to define objectives, audiences, key messages, and content strategies before production begins.
  • Proactively identify storytelling opportunities that highlight student experiences, academic programs, faculty expertise, alumni outcomes, campus life, and institutional impact.
  • Conceptualize, produce, film, edit, and deliver high-quality video and multimedia content for web, social media, digital advertising, recruitment campaigns, and other communication channels.
  • Manage multimedia projects from concept through completion, including creative development, production planning, filming, editing, and final delivery.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to recommend storytelling approaches and communication solutions that best support institutional goals.
  • Capture and produce video content including interviews, student stories, campus events, academic programs, and promotional campaigns.
  • Edit video content incorporating graphics, motion elements, captions, music, and other creative components to enhance storytelling and audience engagement.
  • Maintain consistency with university brand standards, messaging, and visual identity across all multimedia content.
  • Develop and maintain a library of evergreen multimedia assets that support recruitment, reputation, and institutional storytelling.
  • Optimize content for different platforms, including website, social media, email, and digital campaigns.
  • Mentor and collaborate with student workers, graduate assistants, and campus partners to expand multimedia production capacity.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in digital storytelling, social media, and multimedia production.
  • Support broader marketing initiatives and projects as assigned.
Experience and Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Public Relations, Film Production, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent professional experience demonstrating strategic storytelling and multimedia content development will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and producing multimedia content, including video production, editing, and post-production.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing storytelling ability, creativity, technical skills, and experience producing content for digital platforms.
  • Proficiency with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with professional camera equipment, audio recording, lighting, and multimedia production workflows.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, digital audiences, and content strategies that drive engagement.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate with stakeholders, and independently move projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to understand institutional goals and translate them into compelling stories.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically while also executing high-quality creative work.
