PART-TIME JOB OPENING
Before/After School Adventure Time Staff
Hours:
  • Monday - Friday (ideal staff availability is daily)
  • Morning (6:30-8:30AM), Afternoon (3:00-6:00PM), or both shifts

Location: Churchill Elementary School and District 41 Kindergarten Center, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137
If you are creative and enjoy looking after and interacting with children, we have a wonderful opportunity for you! Work either mornings or afternoons, or ideally both. You'll work directly with children and engage them in various activities.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction and supervision of the Adventure Time Director and the Manager of Early Childhood Services, the Adventure Time Staff provides excellent before and/or after school care for families with children attending Churchill Elementary School and the District 41 Kindergarten Center in Glen Ellyn. Staff will work with children from kindergarten through fifth grade at the respective schools. Primary responsibilities are facilitating a variety of activities to include assisting with homework, sports/games, crafts, snack time, and creating a comfortable environment for participants. Staff are expected to be friendly, outgoing, and interact with the students and families while ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment. Additional duties include behavior management, set-up and clean-up of the facility, attending staff meetings and trainings, promoting the Adventure Time program, and other duties as assigned. This is an at-will position.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING
  • The ideal candidate will be reliable, self-motivated, creative, friendly, and patient.
  • Previous childcare or other experience interacting with school age children is highly desired.
  • Good customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively is essential.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to act calmly and effectively in difficult situations.
  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred with college coursework in early childhood education or elementary education a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook or other email system for communication.
  • Solid computer and keyboard skills is preferred.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR, or the ability to obtain within 2 months of hire (GEPD will provide if needed).
  • Must have a valid IL Driver's license and provide own transportation.
