Position Overview

As a Quality Manager, you will take the leadership role in managing district or project quality with minimal corporate supervision.  He/she provides primary technical support to all district and project personnel.  He/she manages the development and implementation of the Project Quality Plan aligned with corporate quality standards and implements processes to prevent quality issues. This position requires the incumbent to develop thorough knowledge of the project scope and schedule as they apply to quality assurance and quality control.

District Overview

Kiewit Building Group specializes in constructing office buildings, industrial complexes, education and sports facilities, hotels, hospitals, transportation terminals, science and technology facilities, manufacturing, retail and special-use facilities and extensive interior construction with tenant improvements. Its capabilities include general construction, construction management, design-build, design-assist and turn-key project development.  Kiewit also provides fast, accurate preconstruction project management services. During the past 10 years, Kiewit has performed construction services for more than 1,100 vertical construction projects, totaling $7.5 billion in revenue.

Location

The project is based in either Omaha or Lincoln, NE. We relocate our teams based on the work that is available, combined with the development plans, skill sets and career goals of each team member. This means your Kiewit adventure is custom-designed to meet our shared needs. 

Responsibilities

   Lead development and execution of the Project Quality Plan (PQP),  Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and participate in related coordination and work planning.
   Oversee quality for large scale commercial building systems, including but not limited to walls, framing and finishes, MEP systems, exterior envelope & roofing systems, and structural components. 
   Conduct and manage inspections to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
   Ensure accurate and timely documentation, record control, and inspection tracking.
   Identify, document, and drive resolution of nonconformances and quality issues.
   Support and participate in internal and external quality audits, ensuring ISO 9001 compliance and audit readiness.
   Manage subcontractor quality performance and alignment with project expectations.
   Analyze trends, identify risks, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
   Communicate quality expectations, adhoc training, findings, and updates across the project team, subcontractors, and others.
   Active participation and incorporation of safety expectations and culture into work planning and completion of quality-related deliverables. 
   Support executive-level and reoccurring meetings with quality metrics and insights.

Qualifications
  • At least 7+ experience developing and implementing construction quality management programs in the Commercial, Building, or Vertical Construction industry. 
  • Exceptional math, computer, verbal and written communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-starter with organizational, managerial, and leadership skills. Must be able to manage teams up to 5 personnel, have effective organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong public speaking and technical writing skills. Must be able to communicate to large groups craft personnel as well as management and client teams
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments
  • Certifications from AWS, CWB, API, ACI, ICBO, ASNT, NACE, etc. are advantageous
  • Strong experience with all aspects of project quality planning & implementation - plan development, Client engagement, inspections, subcontractor management, report development, non-conformance management, software integration.
