Job description

The Outdoor Experiences Guide is a part-time/seasonal position that will assist the Manager - Hunting and Outdoors in all aspects of Outdoor Experiences including development, implementation, launch, execution and evaluation of Parker Ranch Outdoor Experiences. This includes creating new Outdoor Experience Offerings while maintaining all infrastructure and equipment needs for the program.
The Outdoor Experiences Guide will champion navigating bringing new revenue generation opportunities to Parker Ranch under the Guidance of the Manager - Hunting and Outdoors.
The Outdoor Experiences Guide will be expected to have an intimate knowledge of Parker Ranch. He/she will serve as an advocate for Parker Ranch Outdoors program to both internal and external stakeholders and will be responsible for fielding questions and sharing relevant information about the program when appropriate.
The Outdoor Experiences Guide will be responsible for formulating, deploying, adhering to guidelines, safety protocols, and rules for commercial activities on the Ranch as well as support expansion of the Outdoors program into new areas (e.g., other divisions) as well as external community partners.
Must be able to work in various outdoor weather conditions and traverse into remote areas of the Ranch; Must have excellent customer service which will be crucial for this position, as they interact with clients and all Ranch divisions with the goal of providing safe and responsible utilization of the shared access areas.
Requirements
Qualification/Requirements:
  • Ability to organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good attitude; must be a team player.

Special Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's license with no restrictions.
  • Work requires frequent contact with employees at all levels and the public.
  • Ability to operate 12 passenger van.
  • Must be able to welcome and greet visitors comfortably, with knowledge and enthusiasm about the history and culture of Parker Ranch.

Education/Training:
  • Minimum 5-10 years experience in tourism industry on Hawaii island
  • AED and First Aid Certified or ability to obtain AED and First Aid Certification
  • Strong written and verbal English language skills.
