If you are an Advanced Manufacturing professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you. Based at our Sidney, OH location, you will be responsible for ensuring quality rigor and manufacturing readiness of compressor products for new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing technology development. This role partners with Advanced Manufacturing, Design Engineering, and Operations to support early compressor development, pilot builds, pre-production validation activities from early concept through production release. Utilizing coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and similar metrology equipment, this person will provide insights to compressor and process capabilities and support the implementation of new gaging and inspection technologies.
As An Advanced Technology CMM Programmer, You Will:
  • Perform part inspections utilizing CMM's and similar metrology equipment utilizing both "on machine" programming methods as well as utilizing 3D CAD models to generate programs in the simulated virtual environment.
  • Gage New Product Development hardware and gather data for analysis across a wide variety of gaging systems
  • Perform quality systems installations, qualifications, capability studies, and gage R&R's for assembly and machining processes.
  • Assist in the development, validation, and maintenance of inspection methods, work instructions, and quality documentation
  • Participate in the implementation and training of new quality inspection systems
  • Provide training of inspection systems to other technical personnel
  • Assist in a variety of projects that drive continuous improvement
  • Comply with all required safety and regulatory requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Three (3+) years' experience in manufacturing or quality environment
  • Aptitude to learn programming of CMM's
  • Ability to simultaneously drive / execute multiple quality systems projects as well as support production needs as needed
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to apply creative thinking
  • Must be familiar with technical drawings with a general understanding of GD&T
  • Theoretical and practical understanding of SPC and experience making data driven decisions
  • Proven computer skills including MS Words, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality environment
  • Experience or formal GD&T Training
  • Experience or formal CMM Training
  • Understanding of part datum and GD&T standards
  • Excellent collaboration skills to interact with multiple levels of the organization
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and its methodologies
  • Understanding of machining and assembly processes
  • Experience in PC-DMIS/MODUS CMM Programming

This role is based fully onsite, and not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities.
