Job description

SUMMARY
The Mechanical Engineer, PE is responsible for reviewing and approving the mechanical design of data center medium and low voltage products. This role ensures structural integrity, proper lifting and transportation design, thermal performance, and compliance with applicable codes, while developing and maintaining mechanical design standards and material specifications. The engineer will collaborate closely with overseas mechanical teams, provide final engineering sign-off, and support factory builds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review and approve 3D models and fabrication drawings for skids, enclosures, and mechanical assemblies
• Verify structural design, lifting points, seismic/wind considerations, and transportation constraints
• Evaluate thermal management (airflow, ventilation, filters, louvers, HVAC interface) for enclosed power modules
• Check equipment layouts for maintainability, clearances, and NEC working-space requirements
• Develop and maintain mechanical design standards, material specs, and painting/corrosion protection requirements
• Work with external design resources (overseas mechanical teams) and perform final engineering sign-off
• Support factory builds and resolve mechanical non-conformities
• Represents the Company before customers and at technical conferences in support of marketing and sales
• Compliance with all Company policies is required, including adherence to Company ISO 9001 Standards and compliance with Company Affirmative Action Plan and Company Safety procedures
• Compliance with applicable Company policies concerning maintaining a drug free workplace is required
• Regular attendance is an essential function of this position
• Other functions as required (non-essential functions)
SCOPE, PURPOSE, AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS
The position requires daily contact with all levels of TWMC and customers including Engineering, Marketing, Factory Operations, Supply Chain, Service and Accounting.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering with five or more years of related work experience, or Master's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience in heavy electrical equipment, containers, or industrial skids
• Proficiency with 3D CAD (SolidWorks, or similar)
• Understanding of structural design, lifting/rigging, and basic thermal analysis
• Experience with modular power systems or data center infrastructure preferred
• Familiarity with relevant codes/standards (ASCE, AISC, AWS, ASHRAE, etc.) preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas, or the ability to obtain within 12 months
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Mandarin Chinese proficiency is preferred for coordination with overseas teams.
• Write reports and correspondence
• Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Working knowledge of statistical tools

The ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing drawings, repair specifications, test results, and technical journals. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, algebra, permutations, calculus, and differential equations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to Identify a solution to a problem involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
General supervision will be provided. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively and take ownership of assigned projects in a fast-paced environment.
