Project Manager, Large Construction & Maintenance II

Position Summary

The Project Manager, Large Construction & Maintenance II, leads medium- to large-scale electric and gas construction projects, overseeing scope, schedule, cost, resources, and project delivery. This role coordinates cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders while driving process improvements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering projects safely, efficiently, and on time.

Job Function

• Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct all phases of medium- to large-scale construction projects.

• Manage project scope, schedule, cost, and resource allocation.

• Implement and support large-project Construction Management Process (CMP) standards.

• Coordinate project delivery with internal departments, contractors, government agencies, and external stakeholders.

• Develop and improve project management, work management, and cost-estimating processes.

• Integrate safety, environmental, and reliability initiatives into project execution.

• Lead project meetings and oversee large-scale construction project delivery.

• Evaluate and implement project management, planning, scheduling, and cost-estimating tools.

• Forecast, document, verify, and report project variances to senior leadership.

• Prepare project performance metrics and management reports.

• Conduct project performance, cost, and scheduling studies.

• Develop and implement system improvements related to large construction programs.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

• Six to seven years of experience in construction management, operations management, project management, or a related discipline.

• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Six Sigma certification strongly preferred.

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.

• Strong leadership skills in a matrix management environment.

• Advanced project management, work management, and cost-estimating knowledge.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

• Ability to analyze complex documents and technical information.

• Strong problem-solving and consensus-building abilities.
