Job description

TGH Urgent Care Powered By Fast Track Advanced Practice Provider

Job Summary: Our Mission: To create exceptional patient experiences. The TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track Advanced Practice Provider (APP) performs detailed histories and physical exams and partners with patients to create appropriate, evidence-based, medical treatment plans. Additionally, the APP collaborates with the supervising Physicians, Medical Directors, and Clinical Management team on patient cases when appropriate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides evidence-based, episodic care to patient based on current guidelines – independently and in collaboration with other medical providers – following standards and protocols set by TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track
  • Works within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of supervising physician(s) or by specific protocols
  • Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical examinations
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests as needed
  • Partners with patients to determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessary
  • Safely prescribes and/or dispenses medications
  • Documents medical information of patients and reviews patients' histories at each visit
  • Evaluates response to treatments and medications
  • Consults, collaborates, and refers with other physician(s) when appropriate
  • Counsels' patients and performs patient education
  • Performs minor procedures, i.e., laceration repair, incision and drainage, minor foreign body removal, etc. within the limitations outlined in the company protocols
  • Manages pediatric (3 months +) and adult patients for both acute and chronic conditions
  • Actively maintains knowledge of current medical research and trends
  • Provides administrative support or cross-coverage for reviewing laboratory tests, results, and prescription clarifications when needed
  • Completes other duties as assigned
  • Completes scheduled trainings as assigned

Requirements:

  • Current state licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Associate
  • Current BLS
  • Current certification with the NRCME to perform Department of Transportation (DOT) exams
  • Two years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate, strongly preferred
  • Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting, strongly preferred
  • DEA license with no restrictions, preferred
  • New graduates with significant procedural skills/experience will be considered

Work Environment:

  • This position operates on-site in a professional medical environment
  • Consistent use of technology platforms throughout shift to complete assigned work tasks
  • Frequent use of working on a computer to complete assigned work tasks
  • Ability to lift and move up to 20 lbs., and ability to sustain intermittent walking within the clinic setting for up to a 12-hour work shift.

Work Schedule:

  • 13 shifts per month
  • Approximately 36 hours per week
  • Work week to include Sunday through Saturday with weekend and evening hours
  • Flexibility to work at clinic locations within a home region, and ability to occasionally travel between clinic locations depending upon patient volume and clinic needs.
