Join us as we look to the future! We are currently accepting applications for an upcoming 1st shift Advanced Composites Manufacturing Lead need at our Renton location.

Weekend Shift Schedule: 4:00AM - 4:30PM, Friday - Sunday (Work 36 hours. get paid for 40!)

Pay: $30.25/hr. - $34.25/hr. + 4 Comp Hours

Position

Leads are workers who have a high degree of technical proficiency in their jobs, who serve as intermediaries between their supervisor and employees. Team leaders serve as mentors and trainers for their work area. With this dual role, the job description(s) of the jobs in the area also apply to the Team Lead.

The Composite Technician Lead also focuses on producing and developing composite materials to enhance quality and efficiency. They are responsible for coordinating with engineers to study and improve designs and shop-aids, as well as operate machines and equipment with an eye for developing strategies and workflow.

Technicians must be able to follow instructions from engineers and strive to ensure their work meets high standards of quality. They are also required to work in a team environment, so strong communication and collaboration skills are important.

Essential functions, including how an individual is to perform them and the frequency with which the tasks are performed; the tasks must be part of the job function and truly necessary or required to perform the job.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and organize work departments daily
  • Provide direction and schedule production team members' daily activities
  • Frequently monitor and report on work progress of the team
  • Communicate with all departments, logistics, engineering, and production management, including other shifts, about needs, priorities, and issues
  • Promote flow and pull of products and information to internal and ultimately external customers
  • Identify, investigate, and address problems on the production floor
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members by investigating root causes of scrap and RMA issues
  • Work with production and quality teams to prevent recurrence
  • Train and orient new employees on company standards and procedures
  • Implement 5S tools and reduce variation in the work environment
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement activities
  • Ensure company goals and objectives are being met by each employee and provide constructive feedback

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Provide direction to other individuals.
  • Oversees the daily operations of other staff, including scheduling and assigning work.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong technical knowledge in manufacturing and the assigned area or department

Education

  • High school diploma or GED certificate

Experience

  • Previous team leadership experience strongly preferred
  • 2+ Years of demonstrated technical work proficiency in the department assigned to is preferred

Computer Skills

  • Basic experience in an ERP/MRP or resource software is preferred

Working Conditions

While performing the typical duties of this job, employees will experience the conditions noted below. PPE is provided to protect employees against physical harm or hazards in the workplace environment.

  • Usually work indoors. These sites may not be temperature-controlled
  • Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels
  • Exposure to hazardous equipment
  • Exposure to contaminants
  • Shared workspaces with other employees
  • Requires handling objects of up to 30 lbs.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending
  • Standing and/or walking for 8 to 12 or more hours per day (varies based on role, shift, and overtime)

Required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

Required PPE provided by SEKISUI Aerospace based on the employee’s position and exposure. Below are typical PPE used on the production floor. Appropriate PPE must be worn by all employees when on the production floor.
