Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego - Sorrento Valley is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Cardiologist to join our established, multidisciplinary specialty team in San Diego.
This is an opportunity to step into a sophisticated specialty environment with an established referral base, strong clinical support, and meaningful collaboration across a broad range of disciplines. At VSH Sorrento Valley, Cardiology works alongside specialists in Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, Dermatology, Advanced Imaging, and Emergency & Critical Care, creating an environment where complex cases can be managed collaboratively from diagnosis through treatment.
Our hospital has a strong history of doctor and staff retention, and our team takes pride in the relationships we have built with our patients, clients, referring veterinarians, and local community. We are looking for a Cardiologist who wants to become part of that team while having the autonomy to develop their practice and clinical interests.
The Opportunity
As a Cardiologist at VSH Sorrento Valley, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Build upon an established specialty referral service with access to a diverse and complex caseload
  • Collaborate closely with Internal Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesia, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Advanced Imaging, and Emergency & Critical Care
  • Develop your own clinical interests and areas of expertise within a highly supportive specialty environment
  • Work with experienced technicians and client care teams dedicated to supporting specialty medicine
  • Participate in our active teaching program for externs, rotating interns, specialty interns, and residents
  • Pursue clinical research and professional development opportunities through VSH and the broader Ethos Veterinary Health network
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of Cardiology at one of San Diego's established specialty hospitals

Our Canon Aplio 700 and Toshiba Aplio 300 ultrasound systems, along with a mobile ultrasound platform, provide the imaging capabilities needed for comprehensive cardiac evaluation. Digital fluoroscopy and a GE 9800 C-Arm with a neurovascular package provide additional procedural capabilities, while the hospital's 1.5T MRI, 64-slice CT, fully integrated PACS, and advanced monitoring equipment allow specialists to collaborate across disciplines when patients require more complex diagnostic workups.
The hospital also features six operating rooms, a fully equipped ICU, and a 24/7 Emergency and Critical Care service, providing a strong clinical environment for managing patients who require advanced specialty care.
