Job description

The RBT is responsible for implementing individualized behavior intervention plans designed to teach new skills, reduce challenging behaviors, and promote independence for youth.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy programs as designed by the supervising BCBA
  • Provide 1:1 direct intervention
  • Teach communication, social, daily living, play
  • Follow treatment plans designed to decrease challenging behaviors
  • Collect accurate and timely data
  • Meet with the Care Team to communicate outcomes and progress of youth
  • Attend team meetings
  • Implement crisis intervention when necessary
  • Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Provide constant supervision and safety of the children.
  • Complete adequate and necessary documentation during the shift, including reading and signing all necessary documentation, thoroughly and on time.
  • Promote social independence and community involvement.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Adhere to all rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Remain in compliance with all Elmcrest and oversight agency trainings to include BACB requirements.

Department & Program Specific Responsibilities:

  • Assist with individual's personal care (when necessary).
  • Passing of meds (when applicable).
  • May need to transport youth in agency vehicles.
  • Manage children's behaviors according to approved and appropriate techniques including physical intervention when necessary (TCI).
  • Assist youth with morning and afternoon routine.
  • Consistently follow Behavior Plan and Individualized Protective Oversight Plan (IPOP)

Required Education and Experience:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • College and experience preferred
    • Active RBT certifcation from Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). (Preferred)
    • Exiperience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Essential Job Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to sit, squat, crouch and stand for elongated periods of time
  • Ability to lift arms over head in upward reaching motion.
  • Ability to walk up and downstairs up to several times per day.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance, free from major infractions and deemed acceptable to our insurance carrier.
  • Varying levels of travel as determined by departmental needs may be required with this position.
