Job description

We are looking for people that have a passion for helping others and making a difference in someone's life.
Hours are Monday thru Friday between 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Pay rate $16.00 Hr.


Community Resource Network of Florida is looking for fun, compassionate, dependable Life Skills Instructor to join our team in Daytona Beach.  This person will assist Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) achieve their highest level of independence and work toward meeting personal goals. We assist individuals with learning Self-Advocacy, Rights Education, Health and Safety and to become as independent as possible in daily living/job skills.
We cook, we go out into the community, we have a lot of fun, all while learning skills to increase independence and reach goals!


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure the health and safety of all Individuals, and that Individuals are treated with kindness, dignity and respect.
  • Complete all documentation requirements, including daily notes/service logs and summaries on progress toward established support plan and implementation plan goals.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.
  • Greet / assist and escort Individuals to their classrooms, and all areas within the facility.
  • Classes and activities will be facilitated daily and adhere to the Person-Centered philosophy.
  • Assist Individuals with meals. Assist Individuals with bowel and bladder functions.
  • Qualifications and Skills
  • High school Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Must pass Level II background check.
  • Must pass drug screen.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds 

Requirements
A minimum of one year of experience working in a medical, psychiatric, nursing or child care/ adult care setting or working with individuals who have an intellectual and/or developmental disability. College credits or degree can substitute for time of service.
