PRN Care Attendant (Senior Day Program) - Fort Worth, TX
The James L. West Senior Day Program on Harris Parkway James L. West Center for Dementia Care
What if your job wasn't just a job-but a chance to make a difference every day?
At The James L. West Senior Day Program, we provide a unique environment where older adults who are living with dementia spend the day participating in social activities, receiving meals and needed care in a location designed just for them. We see the unique individual before the diagnosis, and we design our program to give each participant the opportunity to have meaningful interaction in a secure location where they can feel comfort and a sense of belonging. We are seeking compassionate, dependable Care Attendants to provide support and care for older adults living with dementia.
What You'll Do
As a Care Attendant, you will be the reason someone living with dementia feels welcome, valued, supported, and feels a sense of belonging when they attend our program. You will be a difference-maker in their life as well as their family as you:
  • Greet participants and their families.
  • Encourage participants to join in social activities.
  • Assist participants with toileting as needed and provide incontinence care if required.
  • Provide transfer assistance.
  • Set up, serve, and monitor mealtimes.
  • Observe participants for safety and fall prevention.
  • Ensure daily cleanliness of our building while completing housekeeping functions and ensuring all infection control procedures are followed.
  • Assist with and lead life enrichment programming.
  • Communicate any changes in condition to nurse and/or designee.
  • Respond calmly, politely, and appropriately to participant needs and family requests including in emergency or urgent situations.
Training & Support That Sets You Up for Success
We believe exceptional care begins with exceptional support. That is why we offer:
  • Paid, on-the-job training
  • Regular team meetings and honest communication
  • Comprehensive annual education
  • Continuous guidance and leadership support
  • Regular supervisor feedback and annual reviews

Our training ensures you feel confident, prepared, and empowered, especially when caring for individuals living with dementia. You will know what is expected of you and how your role impacts our program each day.
Schedule & Pay
  • PRN schedules with the possibility of increased hours as our program continues to grow!
  • Our program currently operates Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Flexible schedules based on your availability.
  • Pay starts at $14.50/hour and up based on your verifiable experience (or higher with a current CNA license).
  • We follow Fort Worth ISD for severe weather closings/delays.

Our flexible scheduling allows you to build a meaningful career while maintaining balance.
Why Work at The James L. West Senior Day Program on Harris Parkway?
  • Work for an organization nationally recognized for dementia care excellence.
  • Join a well-trained, tenured team who feel pride in the work they do.
  • We celebrate each other, recognize work anniversaries and milestones as well as our annual Adult Day Services Week.
  • A chance to make a real difference-every single shift.
  • Grow professionally in a supportive, mission-centered environment.
  • Terrific opportunity to get experience while in school for social work, gerontology, nursing or other healthcare careers.
  • There is joy each day at the Senior Day Program! Participants and staff enjoy dressing up for theme days, celebrating, and wearing jeans on Friday.

If you have a heart for service and want to be part of something meaningful, we would love to meet you.
