ADR Supervisors, or Automated Dialog Replacement Supervisors, are professionals responsible for overseeing the process of re-recording dialogue in post-production for film, television, and other media projects. They coordinate sessions where actors re-perform their lines to improve audio quality or reflect script changes. ADR Supervisors work closely with sound editors, mixers, and directors to ensure that the new dialogue matches the original performance and syncs seamlessly with the visuals. Their work is essential in delivering clear, high-quality audio for the final product.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be an ADR supervisor?

To thrive as an ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) Supervisor, you need expertise in conflict resolution, mediation techniques, and a solid understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks, often supported by a degree in law or a related field. Familiarity with case management software, mediation documentation systems, and relevant certifications (such as mediation or arbitration credentials) is typically required. Outstanding interpersonal skills, impartiality, and strong leadership are crucial soft skills for effectively guiding teams and ensuring fair processes. These competencies are vital for maintaining efficient dispute resolution processes, fostering trust among parties, and upholding organizational or legal standards.
