Job description

About Scribe

Scribe is where exceptional people come to do the best work of their careers. More than 94% of the Fortune 500 use Scribe to own their specialized intelligence: the unique way their teams work, decide, and get things done. Our Specialized Intelligence platform automatically captures how work happens and turns it into a living asset that helps people and AI agents do their best work.

We're growing fast, since our founding in 2019, we've grown to 7 million users across 600,000 businesses. Based in San Francisco, we've been named a LinkedIn Top Startup, are valued at over $1 billion, and are backed by leading investors. Join us in our mission to transform how people do work.

About the Role

This is a net-new senior role on Scribe's Adopt Engineering team, where you'll build and ship full-stack features on new product surfaces while keeping what's already live healthy and fast. We just crossed $100M ARR with 6 million daily active users, so the features you ship reach people at real scale from your first weeks. You're a product-minded engineer who takes a problem from idea to production and raises the technical bar for the people around you.

What You'll Do
  • Ship full-stack features end to end on new product surfaces, owning them from design through production and the metrics they move

  • Build the Python backend services that power those features and keep them reliable at 6-million-daily-active-user scale

  • Make product calls alongside PM and design, deciding what to build and where to cut scope so the right thing ships quickly

  • Keep existing systems healthy as the product grows, doing the maintenance and reliability work that protects team velocity

  • Set technical direction on the projects you lead, from architecture decisions to how the work gets sequenced

  • Raise the engineering bar around you through code review, design feedback, and the standards you hold

What We're Looking For
  • You've shipped full-stack features end to end, owning them from problem definition through production rather than just the slice handed to you

  • You write strong backend code in Python and are comfortable working across the whole stack

  • You think like a product person: you push on why a feature matters and what success looks like, and you make scope tradeoffs without being asked

  • You've raised the technical level of a team, whether through architecture, review, or mentoring

  • You move fast and hold a high bar at the same time, which is how we work at Scribe

Nice to have
  • You've built in React or a similar modern frontend framework

  • You've worked at a high-growth startup and are at home with the ambiguity that comes with it

  • You've owned a feature area or product surface, not just individual tickets

This role is not for you if
  • You want a tightly scoped lane and prefer specs handed to you over shaping what gets built

  • You'd rather go deep on one layer of the stack than own a feature across all of it

Location

Hybrid. Based in San Francisco. We work from the office 3 days per week.

Compensation

Salary varies by location. All full-time employees receive equity in Scribe. Final offers depend on experience and scope.

Benefits
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents

  • Flexible paid time off and company holidays

  • 401(k)

  • Paid parental leave

  • Daily catered lunch (SF office)

  • Commuter benefits

  • Home office stipend

At Scribe, we celebrate our differences and are committed to creating a workplace where all employees feel supported and empowered to do their best work. Scribe is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
