St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Preschool in Pembroke Pines, Florida is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic part time Aftercare Assistant to help provide a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled environment for preschool- aged children enrolled in our aftercare program. The Aftercare Assistant supports the mission of the school by supervising children, assisting with daily activities, and maintaining compliance with all Archdiocese of Miami (ADOM) and Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) requirements. This team member will work in an environment dedicated to faith formation, child development, and creating a safe and nurturing learning atmosphere. The candidate performs duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 15 hours a week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise preschool-aged children during aftercare hours in a safe and positive environment.
  • Assist with indoor and outdoor play, activities, centers, and daily routines.
  • Maintain active supervision of children at all times in accordance with DCF regulations.
  • Promote Christian values and support the Catholic identity and mission of the school.
  • Ensure classrooms and activity areas remain clean, organized, and safe.
  • Assist with snack distribution and clean-up procedures.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with staff, administration, and parents.
  • Follow all ADOM policies, DCF licensing standards, and school procedures.
  • Report any accidents, incidents, or concerns to administration immediately.
  • Support children socially and emotionally using positive guidance techniques.
  • Assist with dismissal and parent sign-out procedures.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.
  • Successful completion of Level II Background Screening and all ADOM compliance requirements, including Virtus.
  • Able to obtain and maintain the training requirements required by Florida DCF for childcare personnel, including: 45-hour DCF Introductory Childcare Training (as required); Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification; Annual in-service training hours.
  • Ability to lift, bend, stand, and actively engage with children throughout the shift.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, patience, reliability, and teamwork.
