Role Overview
Major Tech Firm  is seeking a QA Engineer to support software and hardware validation for Windows-based consumer platforms. This is a hands-on, onsite role focused on manual testing, system validation, debugging, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure product quality and release readiness.Primarily manual testing with an emphasis on hardware troubleshooting and execution of established test procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute predefined manual and automated test cases on Windows-based platforms.
  • Install BSP software packages, configure development boards, flash software builds, and prepare OEM devices for testing.
  • Perform system-level and driver-level validation, including functional, stress, performance, and power testing.
  • Log, track, and triage defects, collect diagnostic logs, and support root cause analysis.
  • Configure and troubleshoot hardware using Ethernet/LAN connections.
  • Work closely with engineering, BSP, OEM QA, and automation teams to resolve issues and support release readiness.
  • Prepare test execution reports and communicate quality status to project stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of QA or platform validation experience.
    • Experience with Windows BSP testing, device validation, and QA methodologies.
    • Hands-on experience with UEFI flashing, KDNET debugging, and bug triage.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD environments, test automation tools, and QA processes.
  • Knowledge of power states, hibernate, modern standby, and platform validation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently after initial onboarding.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Intel, AMD, OEM, or similar hardware validation environments.
  • Background in hardware/software integration testing and platform-level debugging.
  • Knowledge of graphics, embedded systems, USB4, DisplayPort tunneling, or certification testing.
  • Experience supporting large-scale product validation and release readiness initiatives.
