Job Description:

Summary: The Manager of Admissions will assist the Director of Admissions in the day-to-day operations of the Admissions office and provide leadership to the admissions team to achieve territory goals and promote a positive team culture. This position will serve as the operational lead for Slate Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategy with admissions. This position will serve as a bridge between Illinois Central College and various schools, businesses, and community groups in the area to promote general information about the college, plan and execute all admissions events and collaborate with academic units to host events for prospective students, act as a liaison to other Academic and Administrative Departments with the Admissions office, and create and deliver compelling and consistent programming and messaging to all visitors before, during, and after their visit experience.

The compensation for the Manager - Admissions is $62,358.40-$71,718.40 annually.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate Admissions Representatives, as assigned, establishing clear performance expectations tied to recruitment and enrollment outcomes.

  • Supervise a Guest Experience Specialist as assigned.

  • Lead and grow the College's adult learner population by analyzing historical and current enrollment trends, identifying barriers to entry, and implementing targeted recruitment and communication strategies.

  • Serve as the operational lead for Slate CRM strategy within Admissions, including workflow development, communication cadences, event follow-up sequences, and data integrity oversight.

  • Utilize Slate and institutional data systems to monitor key enrollment funnel metrics (inquiry-to-applicant, applicant-to-admit, admit-to-enroll) and identify opportunities to improve conversion and yield.

  • Translate recruitment data into actionable recommendations and regularly present performance reports and dashboards to the Director of Admissions.

  • Assist with segmented recruitment strategies for traditional students, adult learners, dual credit students, and workforce-focused populations in collaboration with Marketing and Academic departments.

  • Support team members in the planning, execution, and evaluation of campus visit experiences and recruitment events, ensuring strong event-to-application conversion outcomes.

  • Assist the Director of Admissions with Marketing to align messaging across digital, print, web, and event platforms to ensure consistent and compelling communication at each stage of the student lifecycle.

  • Maintain consistent, personalized communication touchpoints with prospective students using multi-channel engagement tools, including email, phone, text messaging, virtual platforms, and emerging digital technologies.

  • Represent Illinois Central College at high schools, community organizations, businesses, workforce partners, and college fairs.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and student-centered service within the Admissions team.

  • Identify and recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, student experience, and enrollment outcomes.

  • Stay informed on national and regional enrollment trends, recruitment technologies, and emerging best practices to ensure the Admissions function remains forward-looking and competitive.

  • Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

  • Two years of higher education, student affairs, or admissions experience.

  • Experience in Student Information Systems or CRM technologies, such as Slate.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate insights into recruitment strategies.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to develop admissions marketing and communication strategies.

  • Strong leadership and customer service skills.
