Position Summary
The HR Generalist is a key member of our administrative team and serves as the primary resource for day-to-day human resources activities. This role supports all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll support, benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and training. The successful candidate will be a collaborative, hands-on HR professional who thrives in a mission-driven, team-oriented environment.
What You'll Do
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Coordinate new hire orientation, employment documentation, and background screening.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Administer employee leave programs, including FMLA and ADA accommodations.
  • Support payroll processing by maintaining employee data and reviewing payroll information for accuracy.
  • Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave programs, and annual open enrollment.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
  • Assist with employee relations, performance management, coaching, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Coordinate training programs, maintain training records, and support employee development.
  • Prepare HR reports and assist with policy development and implementation.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Two to three years of progressive human resources experience.
  • Experience supporting multiple HR disciplines, including recruiting, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll, and compliance.
  • Payroll experience preferred; Paychex experience is a plus.
  • Benefits administration experience required.
  • Leave administration experience is a plus.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or another recognized HR certification preferred.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Sound judgment with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a small team.
  • A strong customer service mindset and commitment to building positive working relationships.
