Reporting Relationship

Reports To: People Director

Position Summary

The People Trainee is an entry-level professional development role designed for recent graduates pursuing a career in Human Resources. Reporting directly to the People Director, this position provides practical exposure to the full associate lifecycle, including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, training and development, HR administration, compliance, and People Operations.

The incumbent will support the People Team in delivering efficient HR services, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a positive employee experience while developing foundational Human Resources knowledge and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including employee documentation, orientation coordination, and HR system updates.
  • Maintain employee records and personnel files while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Assist with recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate communications, interview scheduling, and new hire coordination.
  • Provide administrative support for employee transactions, payroll, benefits administration, and leave management.
  • Support employee engagement, wellness, recognition, and training initiatives.
  • Assist with HR reporting, audits, compliance activities, and workforce data management.
  • Respond professionally to associate inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Participate in HR projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and departmental programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational objectives and People Department priorities.
  • Perform other duties, responsibilities, special projects, and assignments as directed by the People Director or other designated departmental leadership.

Qualifications

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, Organizational Development, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recent graduate or up to two (2) years of relevant professional, internship, or administrative experience.
  • Strong interest in developing a career in Human Resources.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
