ASSOCIATE, FINANCING PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT & ORIGINATION

SUMMARY:

The Connecticut Green Bank (hereafter "Green Bank") is seeking an Associate to join its Financing Programs team, focused on program development and origination.

The Financing Programs' Program Development & Origination team is responsible for the Green Bank's clean energy lending programs, including C-PACE, Solar Power Purchase Agreement ("PPA"), Solar Loan, and Solar Lease. The Associate will provide programmatic support to the Director and Associate Manager of Program Development & Origination as they work with property owners, contractors, developers, utilities, municipalities, and other partners to identify project opportunities and develop those until the point of submission of an application for Green Bank financing.

The Green Bank, a quasi-public authority, is the nation's first state-level "Green Bank," leveraging public funds to increase and accelerate private investment in the green economy of Connecticut. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

Individual responsibilities are distributed across several aspects of the program development and origination process, including:

Lead Management and Project Work

  • Managing inquiries submitted through various sources, including the online Building Solutions Contact form, incoming phone calls, contractor-generated leads, and Green Bank's Outreach Team-generated leads, by scheduling introductory calls, explaining program options and requirements, and evaluating possible program eligibility;
  • Connecting prospective customers with contractors, additional program resources, or alternative Green Bank programs when appropriate;
  • Reviewing and following-up on incomplete C-PACE financing applications, including applications with missing information, etc.;
  • Preparing and issuing C-PACE prequalification letters;
  • Drafting transaction documentation for Solar Roof Lease and Solar PPA programs;
  • Collecting, organizing, and maintaining required documentation from property owners and contractors for solar financing programs;
  • Assisting in coordinating the internal administration of Solar Roof Lease and Solar PPA transactions;
  • Preparing project updates, agendas, and supporting materials for weekly contractor calls for Solar Roof Lease and Solar PPA projects; and
  • Creating, maintaining, and managing program reports, dashboards, and project-tracking data in Salesforce.

Contractor Engagement & Training

  • Managing and coordinating contractor trainings, including by maintaining current training PowerPoint presentations, coordinating internal pre-training meetings, and managing registration through Calendly and Microsoft Teams;
  • Managing training participant registration communications, including scheduling communications and distributing post-training follow-up materials to participants;
  • Updating contractor eligibility records in Salesforce;
  • Responding to contractor inquiries submitted through the Contractor Solutions online contact form;
  • Processing contractor eligibility applications for C-PACE and solar financing programs, including conducting reference checks and maintaining supporting application documentation;
  • Coordinating the onboarding of registered and approved contractors, including issuing approval communications and arranging updates to public contractor listings;
  • Tracking contractor compliance with program requirements in coordination with the Associate Manager;
  • Participating in individual weekly contractor calls and support ongoing contractor communications;
  • Assisting the Green Bank's Marketing & Outreach Team with planning and coordinating contractor networking events; and,
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

The following minimum qualifications in knowledge, skill and ability are required:

  • Demonstrated interest in clean energy & sustainability and/or clean energy finance through coursework and/or work experience, and a strong willingness to learn;
  • Demonstrated ability to support multiple projects and initiatives in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and work with limited supervision;
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with emphasis on providing internal and external customer service;
  • Comfort with public speaking;
  • Ability to work efficiently on assigned tasks independently and as part of a team;
  • Creative problem-solving abilities;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, particularly Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • Experience with Salesforce is highly preferred, but not required.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

General Experience:

  • At least two (2) years of employment experience related to the expected duties of this position (i.e., supporting projects or programs, with preference given to demonstrated prior support of clean energy projects or programs).

Substitutions Allowed:

  • A bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental sustainability, business, or related field may be substituted for the General Experience if the candidate also has demonstrated coursework, internship, or other work experience related to the expected duties of the position.

The Green Bank will determine if this position will be filled at the Associate or Senior Associate level based on the experience and qualifications of the individual selected. Prospective applicants who meet most, but not all, selection criteria are encouraged to apply for the position.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS:

  • This position reports directly to the Director of Program Development & Origination.
  • The position will be based in the Green Bank's Hartford, CT office with opportunities for remote work.
  • Expected salary ranges from $65,000 - $75,000, but the final salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
