Job description

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve RHEL Linux environments (200 linux servers currently)
  • Perform monitoring and performance tuning of RHEL Linux environments
  • Design, implement, and maintain a solution for RHEL patch management
  • Provides support for implementing RHEL configuration management
  • Provides support for infrastructure upgrade projects
  • Provides support for automation of RHEL server life-cycle
  • Support day-to-day administration of LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol)
  • Support and collaborate with other teams including DevOps, Development, and other Operations teams
  • Creation of architecture documents, operations process and procedure documents, troubleshoot documents, and run-books

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge and skills in RHEL Linux administration, RHCSA certification would be a plus
  • Experience with RHN (Red Hat Network) local and satellite repositories
    • RHN makes updates, patches, and bug fixes of packages included within Red Hat Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux available to subscribers.
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet, Ansible
  • Experience with Apache HTTPD and WebLogic application server, SiteMinder would be a plus
  • Experience in scripting/programming language (Shell/Bash, Python/Jython, Perl, HTML, Java) would be a plus
  • Working knowledge of VMware virtualization (vSphere, vRealize Automation), VMware certifications a plus
  • Solid understanding network technologies like switching, routing, DNS, VXLAN, SDN, etc.

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related experience

  • Ability to multi-task and flex when priorities change
