We are hiring M365 - Windows Systems Admin for a Contract position in Denver, CO
Job Title: Tier 3 Microsoft 365 Administrator
Can be remote but pefer local to Denver or Brentwood, TN . It's ideal if they can go to the office 3 days per month but not required.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Tier 3 Microsoft 365 Administrator to provide advanced technical support, administration, and engineering for our Microsoft 365 environment. This role serves as the escalation point for complex issues, leads platform optimization efforts, and partners closely with security, identity, and infrastructure teams to ensure a secure, scalable, and reliable M365 ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Microsoft 365 Administration & Engineering
• Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 services, with deep hands-on ownership of:
oSharePoint Admin Center (Online sites, permissions, governance, storage, sharing)
oExchange Admin Center (Online mailboxes, transport rules, retention, hybrid configurations)
oTeams Admin Center (Policies, voice, meetings, apps, and integrations)
• Design, implement, and maintain M365 configurations aligned with organizational standards and best practices
• Manage tenant-wide settings, service health, licensing, and capacity planning
Tier 3 Support & Escalation
• Act as the highest-level escalation point for complex M365 incidents and service degradation
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term corrective actions
• Engage Microsoft Premier/Unified Support as needed and manage cases to resolution
Security, Compliance & Governance
• Partner with security teams to implement and maintain:
oConditional Access policies
oData Loss Prevention (DLP)
oRetention and eDiscovery policies
• Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements
• Support audits and security reviews related to M365 services
Automation & Optimization
• Develop and maintain automation using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and M365 APIs
• Improve operational efficiency through scripting, standardization, and self-service tooling
• Evaluate and deploy new M365 features and capabilities
Collaboration & Leadership
• Mentor Tier 1 and Tier 2 support staff
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and standards
• Provide architectural input for M365-related projects and migrations
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience administering Microsoft 365 in an enterprise environment
• Expert-level experience with:
oSharePoint Online and SharePoint Admin Center
oExchange Online and Exchange Admin Center
oMicrosoft Teams and Teams Admin Center
• Strong PowerShell scripting skills for M365 administration
• Solid understanding of Azure AD / Entra ID (identity, authentication, and access management)
• Experience troubleshooting hybrid environments (on-prem AD, Exchange hybrid)
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-102, Exchange, Teams, or Security certifications)
• Experience with Microsoft Purview, Defender for Office 365, and Intune
• Familiarity with large-scale migrations to M365
• Experience in regulated or highly secure environments
Working Conditions
• May require participation in on-call rotation for critical incidents
