Job Description Project Manager - Strategic PMO Talent Rotation Program, Decatur, IL (On-site) The role:As a Project Manager within the Strategic PMO Talent Rotation Program, you will lead complex, cross-functional initiatives on behalf of business sponsors and senior leadership. You will be accountable for delivering projects aligned with ADM's strategic objectives, ensuring outcomes meet defined expectations for quality, cost, timing, and business benefits.You will be entrusted with a diverse portfolio of projects spanning mergers and acquisitions (MADJV), capital projects, and enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. This rotation provides exposure to senior decision-makers and the opportunity to contribute directly to ADM's long-term success.other PMOs at ADM to lead large-scale capital expenditure initiatives aimed at organic growth.Key responsibilities:General Project Leadership and Strategic Initiative ExecutionDevelop and execute comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation aligned with strategic goalsEstablish and manage governance structures, including roles, responsibilities, and decision frameworksEnsure delivery against agreed quality, cost, timing, and benefit targetsIdentify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues, including contingency planningDrive alignment and facilitate communication across diverse stakeholder groups and geographiesTrack performance through KPIs and provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, and key decisionsManage third-party vendors and external partners where applicableLead or support high-impact projects across multiple domains: MADJV (Mergers, Acquisitions, Divestitures, Joint Ventures), Capital Expenditure (CapEx) investments (greenfield and expansion projects), and/or Enterprise transformation and strategic optimization initiativesLead end-to-end execution of transactions, including pre-deal planning, due diligence, integration, or separationManage Day 1 readiness and transition planning (communications, systems, operations)Oversee integration or disentanglement activities, including TSA development and executionTrack synergy realization, cost alignment, and risk mitigationSupport cultural integration and change management across organizationsTalent Rotation Development ExperienceDuring the 18-24 month assignment, you will:Manage projects across multiple business units and functional areas, gaining broad enterprise exposureDevelop critical leadership capabilities, including communication, influencing, problem-solving, and stakeholder managementBuild a strong professional network through interaction with senior leaders and cross-functional teamsReceive structured feedback through quarterly development reviews with PMO leadership and HR.Participate in formal training, including Prince2 certification and enterprise learning programsBe supported by senior project managers, mentors, and PMO leadership for guidance and coachingParticipants are expected to take ownership of their development, actively pursue learning opportunities, and align their performance with defined career goals.Candidate Profile - Requirements & QualificationsSkills & CompetenciesBachelor's degree in business, finance, project management, or related field; Master's degree is a benefitMinimum 3 years of experience at ADM or in a comparable role involving complex, cross-functional initiativesDemonstrated track record of strong performance and value deliveryFuture desire to lead transformation, strategy execution, or obtain a business leadership roles preferredExposure to MADJV or large-scale strategic projects is a benefitTalent Rotation ProfileHigh-potential, high-performing internal candidate with clearly defined career aspirationsDemonstrated leadership behaviors and ability to influence beyond direct authorityStrong motivation to grow into leadership roles and expand enterprise knowledgeWillingness to travel or relocate for development opportunitiesProactive, collaborative, and adaptable mindsetCertifications & ToolsPMP, Prince2, or willingness to obtain certification is required.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint) and planning tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent.Willingness to travel up to 15-20%.Career Opportunity & Value PropositionThis Talent Rotation role offers a unique opportunity to:Accelerate career growth through hands-on leadership of high-impact, enterprise initiativesBuild broad business acumen across multiple business units and functionsDevelop a strong internal network and executive visibilityGain formal project management certification and structured development supportTransition into future leadership or strategic roles within ADM upon completionExcited about this role but don't think you meet every requirement listed?
