Job Summary

As a Manager Delivery in the field of Information and Technology (I&T), you will play a critical role in optimizing the allocation and utilization of human resources within our IT department. You will work closely with project managers, department heads, and HR to ensure that the right resources are assigned to projects based on their skills, availability, and project requirements. Your ability to effectively manage resources will directly contribute to the successful delivery of IT projects and initiatives.

Main Responsibilities

Leading Others

          Resource Allocation: Collaborate with project managers and department heads to understand project requirements, timelines, and resource needs. Allocate resources to projects based on availability, skills, and project priorities.

          Resource Planning: Develop and maintain resource plans to ensure that staffing levels align with project demands and organizational objectives. Anticipate future resource needs and proactively address resource gaps.

          Skill Matrix Management: Maintain a comprehensive skill matrix for IT personnel, capturing their expertise, certifications, and experience. Use the skill matrix to identify resources with the required skills for specific project roles.

          Resource Utilization Tracking: Monitor resource utilization and workload distribution to ensure that resources are utilized effectively and efficiently. Identify opportunities to optimize resource utilization and address overallocation or underutilization issues.

          Capacity Management: Assess the capacity of IT teams and individuals to take on additional work. Balance workloads across teams and individuals to prevent burnout and ensure sustainable performance.

          Resource Development: Work with HR and department heads to identify training and development opportunities for IT personnel. Support the professional growth of team members by facilitating training programs and certifications.

          Performance Management: Collaborate with project managers and department heads to evaluate the performance of IT personnel. Provide feedback and coaching to help individuals improve their performance and achieve their career goals.

          Stakeholder Communication: Communicate resource allocation decisions and updates to project managers, department heads, and other stakeholders. Manage expectations regarding resource availability and timelines.

Project Management Excellence

          Collaborate in establishing PMO Framework: Develop and implement standardized project management processes, methodologies, and best practices across the organization. This includes defining project governance structures, roles, and responsibilities.

          Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Partner with PMO to implement mechanisms for tracking project performance metrics, such as budget variance, schedule adherence, and quality indicators. Generate regular reports and dashboards to provide stakeholders with visibility into project status and performance.

          Risk and Issue Management: Coach resources to identify potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery and develop mitigation strategies to address them. Facilitate risk assessment sessions and escalate critical issues to senior management as needed.

          Financial Analysis and Project Forecasting: In collaboration with the PMO, monitor project financial performance and track budget vs. actual expenditures.

          Forecast project financials and identify potential cost-saving opportunities or financial risks.

Requirements

Education

       Bachelor's degree in computer science, business management, engineering or equivalent experience.

Skills/Knowledge

          Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

          Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower team members.

          Experience delivering and leader others using both Agile and waterfall project delivery methodologies

          Strong customer/client focus, with the ability to manage expectations appropriately; provide a superior customer/client experience and build long-term relationships.

          Strong understanding of IT project management methodologies and processes.

          Proven experience in project management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role or equivalent.

          Proven ability to work under stress in emergencies, with the flexibility to handle multiple high-pressure situations simultaneously.

          Bilingual with strong written and verbal communication skills

       Prince 2 or PMP certification
