While our clinic supports patients in recovery from substance use disorders (opioid, alcohol, and stimulant use), we recognize that true recovery requires deep attention to mental health. Our Addiction Counselors focus on comprehensive behavioral health treatment, specifically addressing substance use. Our additional multidisciplinary services include Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), psychiatry, and mental health therapy.

  • Schedule:

What You Bring (Requirements)

  • Active Maryland counseling or social work certification/license (ADT, CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LGADC, LCADC, LGPC, LCPC, LMSW, or LCSW-C).

  • At least 1 year of experience in addiction counseling or behavioral health preferred.

  • Tech Savviness: Strong proficiency in navigating multiple technology platforms and electronic systems. Ability to adapt quickly to new digital tools, workflows, and evolving processes in a fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a high level of clinical professionalism.

What You Will Do (The Role)

In alignment with the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors regulations, your responsibilities center on integrated care for Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) and Co-Occurring Disorders (CODs):

  • Clinical Evaluation & Assessment

    • Conduct comprehensive clinical biopsychosocial evaluations, including screenings, assessments, and participate in the development of diagnostic impressions for SUDs and CODs.

  • Person-Centered Treatment Planning

    • Partner with patients to design and execute individualized treatment plans, outlining clear goals for initial care, ongoing recovery, continuity of care, relapse prevention, and discharge.

  • Evidence-Based Counseling

    • Facilitate high-quality individual and group counseling sessions, utilizing evidence-based, trauma-informed care and behavioral health modalities to help patients build lasting coping strategies.

  • Case Management & Service Coordination

    • Actively manage an assigned caseload, serving as a primary resource to help patients coordinate services, navigate treatment, and access necessary referrals.

  • Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration

    • Actively participate in team meetings and case presentations, collaborating closely with medical and psychiatric providers to ensure a seamlessly integrated approach to patient care.

    • Support System Education: Engage with family members and support systems, providing essential education, guidance, and community resources to strengthen the patient's recovery network.

  • Professional Documentation

    • Maintain thorough, timely, and compliant clinical documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system to track patient progress.
