Join Our Team as a Registered Nurse (RN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – PRN Overnight

We provide a wide range of behavioral healthcare services, including psychiatry, addiction recovery, and mental health treatment, all designed to empower clients at various stages of their recovery journey to regain their health and well-being.

Position Overview

We are currently looking for dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to join our PRN overnight team at Freedom Detox in Gastonia, NC.

This role is vital in ensuring safe, supportive, and clinically appropriate care for individuals embarking on their recovery from substance use disorders. Our nursing staff plays a crucial role in stabilizing clients during the detoxification process while providing empathetic care within a structured behavioral health setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver nursing care and support to clients throughout the detoxification process.
  • Conduct nursing assessments for new admissions and ongoing client needs.
  • Administer medications and assist with withdrawal management protocols.
  • Perform and document COWS and CIWA assessments in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Monitor client health status and relay any changes to medical providers and clinical leadership.
  • Educate clients about their medications and support their understanding of treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Ensure medical equipment and supplies are properly maintained and readily available.
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements, policies, and safety protocols.
  • Complete necessary training and uphold compliance standards.
  • Perform additional nursing duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • For Registered Nurses (RN):
    • Must possess a current, active, and unencumbered RN license in North Carolina.
    • Current CPR/BLS and First Aid certification required.
    • Experience in behavioral health, detox, addiction treatment, or psychiatric nursing is preferred.
  • For Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN):
    • Must possess a current, active, and unencumbered LPN license in North Carolina.
    • Current CPR/BLS and First Aid certification required.
    • Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, detox, or residential settings is preferred.
