Job description

Description
The Spring Roll Lead is responsible for overseeing both the Rolling and Packing areas to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production of spring roll products. This role coordinates personnel, monitors product flow and quality, ensures equipment readiness, and maintains communication across departments. The Spring Roll Lead enforces GMP standards, addresses food safety concerns promptly, and performs or oversees sanitation activities. Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and physical stamina are essential to prevent product damage and maintain a smooth manufacturing process from rolling through final packaging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign, coordinate, and adjust daily personnel placement in both Rolling and Packing areas to meet production requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication with Packing, Rolling, QA, Prep, Maintenance, and Supervisory teams.
  • Prepare and set up rolling and packing equipment, utensils, and materials prior to production.
  • Monitor product flow and quality throughout the entire spring roll process, including weight, shape, water control, sealing, and final packaging.
  • Coordinate batter and filling requirements with the Prep Supervisor.
  • Train and direct personnel on safety procedures and correct operation of rolling and packing equipment.
  • Ensure all crew members follow company policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Track and update packaging material inventory and allocate materials as needed.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance activities through coordination with Maintenance.
  • Monitor employee lunch and rest breaks.
  • Communicate production needs, issues, and updates to supervisors.
  • Immediately report any food safety or quality issues to Production, Operations, or appropriate Supervisors.
  • Cross-train in other areas and perform additional duties as assigned.
  • In the absence of the Spring Roll Lead, responsibilities will be covered by the Spring Roll Supervisor.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems in situations with limited standardization.
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to work with speed and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Qualifications & Experience  
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • One to two years of experience in manufacturing or food production.
  • Experience in the Food and Beverage industry preferred.
Sanitation Responsibilities
  • Perform pre- and post-production sanitation of the Rolling and Packing areas.
  • Sweep floors, dispose of garbage, and maintain safe, dry work areas.
  • Wash trays, tables, carts, conveyors, and other equipment.
  • Clean all rolling and packing machinery including, but not limited to:
  • Rolling machines,
  • Short conveyors
  • Allpac
  • Ross machine
  • Metal detector
  • Spiral freezer
  • Adco machine
  • Ensure sanitation tasks meet company and food safety standards.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for most of the shift.
  • Occasionally required to balance or climb.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 30–40 pounds depending on task.
