Our engineering excellence, based in Washington State, Washington D.C., Hamburg, Germany and Orlando, Florida, enables us to develop and supply integrated lidar hardware and perception software solutions. Our proprietary technologies enhance safety and automation across various industrial applications, including robotics, automated warehouses, and agriculture, and are instrumental in the development of autonomous systems. MicroVision’s core technology, initially developed for the automotive industry, continues to accelerate advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving. Building on our history of providing technology to the military segment, our target offerings include semi- and fully autonomous airborne and terrestrial sensor systems. With our solid-state lidar technologies, encompassing FMCW and MEMS-based long-range lidar and flash-based short-range lidar, integrated with our onboard perception software, MicroVision possesses the expertise to deliver safe mobility at the speed of life.

To strengthen our team at the Redmond location, we are looking for a Senior System Test Engineer. As a key member of MicroVision's Systems Engineering team, you will collaborate with various technical teams in the company to design and take into production market defining LiDAR products.

Summary:

The Senior System Test Engineer is responsible for planning, developing, and executing system-level verification and validation activities for LiDAR products. The engineer will be responsible for translating system requirements into test strategies, designing and executing test plans, analyzing performance data, and driving issue resolution across hardware, firmware, optics, algorithms, and software teams.

The ideal candidate combines strong systems engineering fundamentals with hands-on test execution experience and a passion for solving complex technical problems. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify issues, drive root-cause analysis, and ensure successful product development from concept through production release.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop system-level verification plans, test cases, and test procedures from product and system requirements.
  • Define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and verification methods for functional, performance, environmental, reliability, and safety requirements.
  • Execute verification and validation activities throughout EVT, DVT, and PVT phases.
  • Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, defects, and verification results.
  • Develop automated test scripts, tools, and data analysis frameworks.
  • Improve test efficiency, repeatability, and coverage.
  • Support development and maintenance of system test stations and validation infrastructure.
  • Analyze large data sets generated during system testing.
  • Generate technical reports and present findings to engineering teams.
  • Track performance metrics and verification status against program milestones.

Our requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in system test, integration, validation, or product verification. Experience validating complex electro-optical, embedded, or automotive systems.
  • Strong understanding of:
