Job Description

 About the Team:
The ADAS Application Engineer is responsible for the application release of the ZF ADAS components and systems to the ZF regional commercial vehicle customers.

The ADAS Application Engineer must communicate with the customer frequently, be able to fully understand the customer's needs, and understand the functionalities and limitations of current ZF ADAS components and systems. The ADAS Application Engineer will then work proactively with internal ZF project and customer teams to complete the engineering deliverables to meet all the stakeholders' requirements and timelines for the specific projects. Once assigned the Application Engineer is responsible for the engineering tasks from start to finish of the ADAS project, frequently reporting and updating the project teams on the status of the engineering side of the projects.

What you can look forward to as ADAS Engineer II:

  • Requirements elicitation and specification mapping
  • Collect and compare technical customer requirements, specifications, associated documents, and identify mapping specifications and deviations.
  • Provide proposals for ZF product matching customer requirements, resolve deviations in consultation with product group engineer and customer, accomplish acceptance of deviations.
  • Create change requests for non-acceptable deviations including breakdown of customer requirements.
  • Select / design / calculate product layout for customer application.
  • Consolidate / prepare product documentation (Drawings, schematics, plumbing/wiring diagrams, DMU's, specifications, bill of material etc.)
  • Check component installation, system environment, start-up system in the vehicle, and initialization in the vehicle
  • Homologate or support customer to homologate according to national and international regulations as appropriate.
  • Train and instruct customers on product features, end-of-line process and requirements etc.
  • Get technical approval of application from the customer and provide technical release of application.

Your profile as ADAS Engineer II:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering or related engineering field required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in automotive / commercial vehicle product engineering, preferably in vehicle function development or vehicle testing.
  • Relevant engineering practices, preferably in the automotive or commercial vehicle ADAS market.
  • Technical knowledge of Product Engineering in the automotive industry, preferably commercial vehicle market with experience in but limited to ADAS (radars, cameras, image processing to support ACC, AEBS, VRU, AHBC, LDW, BSD, etc....).
  • Good understanding of vehicle communication networks (CAN/CAN-FD/Ethernet).
  • General knowledge of automotive standards (SAE standard practices, J1939, ISO, UDS) preferred.
  • Experience with automotive tools (Data Loggers, Vector: CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape/PEAK/etc....).
  • Familiarity with requirements management, test case creation, and issue resolution tools (DOORS/Integrity) preferred.
