The chosen candidate will be responsible for ensuring frontline staff have the tools to help customers, adhere to regulations, and be aware of procedures and changes to procedures, ensuring our commitment to unparalleled service.The opportunity has a generous hourly rate of up to $25/hr plus generous incentives and a benefits package.ย  (This is not a remote position.)Deposit Operations Specialist responsibilities include:
  • Process debit card disputes, debit card fraud notifications, and lost/stolen alerts.
  • Support the daily ACH process, which includes but is not limited to approving/setting up ACH Files, ACH incoming returns release, processing uncollected funds, and reviewing prenotes.ย  Prepare reports for the ACH Committee and assist with preparing Annual ACH Reviews.ย 
  • Manage Overdrafts, including: monitor daily overdrafts for appropriate approvals, timely closing of the daily overdraft process, large dollar return notifications, if needed, reaching out to the account officer, sending notifications to the customers, closing stale overdrawn accounts as needed, and reporting them to ChexSystems.
  • Process incoming return items (chargebacks) to include redepositing or charging back the item to the customer's account, notifying the account officer of large or potentially fraudulent items, mailing notices, and placing holds as necessary.ย 
  • Mobile Deposits- Review deposited checks for proper endorsement and potential fraud items.
  • Process exception items to include Non-post and Stop Pays.
  • Review new holds for accuracy.ย  Follow up with the Retail Team if any issues are found.ย 
  • Recons - Responsible for balancing and clearing differences on multiple bank GLs and internal DDAs.
  • Positive Pay - Monitor that decisions have been made on all items.ย  Process returns as needed.
  • Review incoming checks for potentially fraudulent activity in addition to missing signature, two signatures required, check stock differences, and endorsement.
  • Perform other Deposit Operations duties as assigned or required to back up the team.
