Why This Internship
As an intern with Textron, you'll gain hands-on experience while exploring your interests and building new skills. You'll be supported and challenged to contribute in meaningful ways - working on real projects alongside experienced professionals to prepare for future success.
JOB SUMMARY:
Candidates will work with and assist the accounting team at Textron Aviation. Candidates will gain hands on experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, inventory control, and fixed assets. Candidates will also have the potential to work on domestic and international tax compliance, reporting, and research.
  • JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participate in forecast, monthly/quarterly business reporting, variance analysis, and month-end close activities for the organizations they support
  • Develop weekly cash forecast and track actual cash receipts
  • Work through cross-functional relationships within the organization and facilitate communication between the functions within finance to ensure accurate and predictive financial information is communicated throughout the organization
  • Understand key business unit operating metrics/drivers and measure performance to established metrics
  • Responsible for forecast accuracy and monitoring countermeasures.
  • Assist in the development of annual operating plans and long-range plans and capital planning processes
  • Potentially participate in monthly evaluations of inventory balance, developing report for Operations on inventory trends and inventory turns, and subject to monthly evaluations of excess and obsolete inventory (E&O)
  • Perform special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting as required
  • Builds and maintains constructive relationships with Operations, Program Management, Engineering & Supply Chain

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Pursing a Bachelor's degree required in:
  • Accounting
  • Finance
  • Other related field

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong sense of accountability and integrity
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Action oriented and seizes opportunities
  • Effectively utilizes time and organizes priorities well
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required - ability to create formulas (V-lookups, sumif, etc.) and utilize PivotTables. Experience using Microsoft Word, and Outlook also required
  • SAP experience
  • Hyperion/SmartView experience a plus

Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.
Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.
Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
