What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Acupuncture Service, and why are they important?

To thrive in Acupuncture Service, you need a solid understanding of traditional Chinese medicine, anatomy, and physiology, typically backed by formal training and state licensure or certification. Familiarity with sterilization protocols, patient management systems, and charting software is important for daily practice. Excellent communication, empathy, and active listening help practitioners build trust and tailor treatments to individual patient needs. These skills ensure effective, safe, and patient-centered care in a holistic healthcare environment.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals providing acupuncture services in a clinical setting?

Professionals offering acupuncture services in a clinical environment often encounter challenges such as building trust with new patients unfamiliar with acupuncture, maintaining accurate documentation for each treatment session, and coordinating care with other healthcare providers. Additionally, practitioners must stay current with evolving regulations and best practices, and may need to educate patients about the benefits and limitations of acupuncture. Balancing client expectations while ensuring safety and efficacy is a key part of the role.

What are Acupuncture Services?

Acupuncture services involve the practice of inserting very thin needles into specific points on the body to stimulate healing and relieve pain. This traditional Chinese medicine technique is often used to address a variety of health concerns, including chronic pain, stress, and certain neurological conditions. Treatments are typically administered by licensed practitioners who assess each patient's needs and develop personalized care plans. Sessions can vary in length and frequency depending on the condition being treated. Overall, acupuncture is considered safe when performed by trained professionals.

Job description

Part-Time Licensed Acupuncturist – Join Growing Integrative Wellness Practice in Boerne, TX. Build to Full-Time with Apothecary Support
Annie’s Apothecary is a trusted compounding apothecary in beautiful Boerne, Texas (Hill Country), now expanding into more comprehensive wellness services. Our clinical pharmacists specialize in personalized medications, hormone optimization, autoimmune disorder management, and functional health—making us the ideal hub for integrative care. We're seeking a motivated, licensed acupuncturist to launch acupuncture services part-time, with a clear path to full-time as our shared patient base grows.

Why Join Us?
  • Built-in Patient Flow: Access referrals from our existing Apothecary clients. Patients seek non-traditional methods to support chronic pain, stress, inflammation, fertility, hormone balance, and preventive wellness—perfect synergy with our compounded medications and prescription grade supplements.
  • Collaborative Environment: Have access to clinical resources and pharmacists who can address herb-drug interactions.
  • Low Overhead, High Support: Use our clinical patient room, electronic records platform that allows for HIPAA compliant video conversations with clients, AI summary of client interactions for faster documentation if desired, and Apothecary referrals. Focus on treating patients!
  • Growth Potential: Start part-time (flexible 2–3 days/week) and scale to full-time as clientele builds.
  • Prime Location: Boerne's growing community values holistic health—convenient for Hill Country residents avoiding San Antonio drives.
Position Details
  • Schedule: Part-time to start (e.g., 10–20 hours/week, flexible days/hours; no weekends required). Ramp to full-time as volume increases.
  • Perks:

  • Employee pricing for prescription grade supplements and compounded medications.
  • Shared marketing (website, social, bag stuffers).
  •  Supportive team culture focused on patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Active Texas Acupuncture License (Texas State Board of Acupuncture Examiners).
  • NCCAOM certification (preferred).
  • Malpractice insurance listing Annie’s Apothecary as secondary entity.
  • Passion for integrative medicine and collaborating with pharmacists and other holistic providers.
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to evidence-informed holistic care.
  • Experience with pain management, wellness, or herbal integration a plus (but open to motivated newer practitioners).
  • Willingness to be a periodic contributing writer of general health (600-700 words) for a patient focused magazine, a plus.
  • We are a Christian-owned wellness practice seeking a licensed acupuncturist who is comfortable working within a faith-based, patient-centered environment focused on compassionate care.
If you're a compassionate, skilled acupuncturist ready to thrive in a supportive environment without the go-at-it-alone grind, we'd love to hear from you!
Email your resume, cover letter, and Texas license details to scott@anniesrx.com with the subject line: "Boerne Acupuncturist – [Your Name]". Include why you're excited about joining a compounding apothecary wellness expansion.
