What Is the Opportunity?
Business Insurance Actuarial Product - Specialty is seeking an analytical and highly motivated Manager to support our Product and Platform Modernization (PPM) actuarial deliverables across Specialty lines, including Inland Marine, Ocean Marine, and Boiler & Machinery. This role plays a central part in our ongoing modernization journey, building on the recent launch of Travelers Contractors Equipment (CE) on Guidewire, Travelers' first BI specialty line on the new platform.
Key responsibilities include rate plan development and build for current and future PPM products, post-monitoring design and execution, compliance documentation and rating table validation, and contributions to restatement and benchmark capabilities. The role partners closely with Product Management, Product Development, Rating Technology (BIRT/Ratabase), Underwriting, the Pricing Circle, and our Strategy, Planning & Execution (SP&E) delivery teams on rate plan implementation. Strong technical and analytical skills, sound judgment, clear and concise communication, and a willingness to leverage new tools, including AI, to deliver smarter, faster results are key attributes of a successful candidate.

What Will You Do?

Strategy:

  • Participate in a lead role in the successful execution and completion of assigned strategic initiatives and projects.

  • Develop solutions to resolve challenges of an initiative.

  • Propose change and innovation in order to improve project team performance and timelines.

  • This position will often participate on cross-unit initiatives and may participate on Enterprise initiatives.
