Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our growing team as an Actuarial Associate I!

About the role

The Retirement Actuarial Financial Reporting team is looking for an actuary to join the team! We are seeking an actuarial associate II to conduct our annuity financial reporting work. This position will play a key role in our deferred annuity products STAT/GAAP/Tax reserve setting, and other process enhancement project as needed.

  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annually valuation process for deferred annuity products
  • Prepare actuarial reports prepared by junior staff and provide timely and comprehensive analysis
  • Assist in internal and external audit inquiries
  • Maintain and enhance deferred annuity valuation model

Compensation

Salary Range:$87,900 - $146,500 plus eligibility for annual bonus programs

Who you are

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent with strong quantitative background including college level mathematics.
  • 2 to 4 years of annuity related actuarial experience
  • 3 to 5 actuarial exams
  • Proven ability to adhere to due dates and strong sense of accountability
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Experience with Python, Snowflake and/or other actuarial modeling software
  • High school diploma required
