General Re Life Corporation (GRL), a Berkshire Hathaway Company, is offering an excellent summer 2027 opportunity for Actuarial Interns within our Life Actuarial team. This role will be performed remotely.
Role Description
The Intern will be exposed to an array of the following:
  • Challenging assignments with practical, on-the-job experience
  • These assignments may include projects from multiple actuarial departments including pricing, valuation, and data analysis
  • Weekly meetings with professionals from different areas in the company
  • Lunch and Learns with all interns in the program
  • Opportunity to present to an actuarial audience

Work is done in a team environment, which utilizes the experience and knowledge of all team members. These exposures and projects will provide the Intern with an understanding of the dynamics of a corporate team and its environment.
Role Qualifications and Experience
  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree with an accredited college or university (preferred in junior year with majors in Actuarial Science or Mathematics)
  • Strong written and oral communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Analytically minded
  • Passage of one or more Society of Actuaries' exams
  • Organizational ability and attention to detail
  • Interpersonal/critical-thinking skills
  • Capacity to work in a team environment
  • Prefer knowledge of statistical modeling packages, programming languages, and spreadsheets/databases

Salary Range
23.00 - 27.00 USD
